I WISH to enquire why Suzanne Harrington (Irish Examiner, March 25) found it appropriate to fire cheap potshots at Christianity’s most solemn feast-day, Good Friday, in her piece headlined ‘Now that’s what I call a Good Friday’ on that very day.

How could you condone the publication of snide and sniping comments so offensive to Christians of all denominations?

Journalistic standards in the Irish Examiner have certainly been debased by Ms Harrington and by Kevin Barry, who on March 19 ranted about “religious mania ... and Catholicism” in tones of blatant bigotry, conducive to stirring up religious hatred.
