WHY did the Irish Examiner (May 10) deem it necessary to specify the gender of the garda who arrested Judge Brian Curtin in Tralee last Saturday night?

The report informed us that up to six gardaí were involved in the operation that led to his arrest, but it did not specify the gender of the others.
