Rewriting history

AS an example of rewriting history, David Roberts’ letter (Irish Examiner, Nov 17) is a prime example.

Rewriting history

The mutiny of the Connaught Rangers to which he refers did not take place in 1916 but four years later in protest at the actions of the Black and Tans in Ireland.

Whatever John Condon's reasons for joining the British army, he will not be replaced in that dark corner where he and his comrades lay for years, forgotten by their own people no matter how embarrassing it may be to those who really did try to rewrite history.
