Incinerator location doesn’t fit guidelines
My understanding of international policy on waste management is that after we have gone through the prevention, reuse, recycle, and recover (energy) formula, there may well be a small residue of waste for which incineration is necessary.
WHO states that an incinerator should be located where there is no temperature inversion, no danger of flooding and no proximity to flammable materials. This does not describe Ringaskiddy. Furthermore, the almost completed marine training college has been refused planning permission for a residential facility. I wonder why?
