Points in isolation

CIE published information at the inception of the DART system in 1984 that the overhead electric wires that power the system could be isolated through the use of lineside electrical switch houses, located at six points along the original line.

In addition, further isolation points were stated to be included at the five substations that provide power to the system.

Why are these facilities not being used to isolate the Pearse-Bray section into six different sections? Or is it that IR have let the facilities degenerate to the point where they no longer work?
