AIB’s crime was to be cheaper than the rest

IN the wake of the AIB debacle it should be noted that...

1. AIB were, and still are, generally 0.5% cheaper than their competitors for foreign money.

2. AIB offered a product at a price and nobody was obliged to purchase it.
