THERE was a report on the morning news on Sunday, August 31, regarding a South African woman who had gone missing.

She was due to be deported and there were fears for her safety. What surprised me was that there were no further reports on the matter especially as her case had been well documented in the media.

The following day I phoned the Garda Press Office and was informed that she was safe and sound in Britain.
