Restoring Stormont is the way forward

THIS is what Bertie Ahern said about the current impasse in Northern Ireland: “If it’s left to the two governments, the two governments will give the leadership and take the decisions, if that’s the way it has to be.”

What leadership is he talking about? The only leadership visible from any corner has been from Ian Paisley, who does not want peace and justice for all, and Sinn Féin and the IRA, who alone have fulfilled their obligations and delivered on their word.

The maddening equivocation and lip service from Mr Ahern and Mr Blair enables Mr Paisley to block the way forward.

Any path other than to restore the Stormont Assembly is illegitimate.
