Where are the Irish friends whose liberty we supported?

AS a frequent guest in your country I have smilingly endured the occasional slur against Americans, but nothing prepared me for the vitriol spat from the editorials, columnists and letters in the Irish Examiner of Saturday (Feb1).

Where are the Irish friends whose liberty we supported?

From the viewpoint of neutrality, the US President and the vast majority of Americans who bravely follow him are made to seem comparable to Adolf Hitler and his Holocaust machine.

According to the Irish Examiner, Ireland whose WWII neutrality still rings in the ears of Irish-Americans should today act with the rest of the world to knock the US back in its place. Only through the shroud of neutrality can this be seen as right.
