What is the airport board’s destination?

I FIND that the situation surrounding the break-up of Aer Rianta is still far from clear. I wonder why the Government is placing a member of staff of the US company Dell on the proposed new Shannon airport board (Irish Examiner, October 17).

What is the airport board’s destination?

Do the plans for Shannon airport somehow include the production of personal computers and printers? Does making computers have anything at all to do with landing aircraft or noise abatement procedures? Do the Aer Rianta unions know that Dell is a strictly non-union operation in Ireland?

If there is some sort of secret public- private partnership deal being cooked up for Shannon, I think we should know about it now.
