US treatment of Irish illegal immigrants is no different to the way we treat illegals here. The State regards them as lawbreakers and wants them out.

The reality is there’s no special case for the Irish, no matter how many bowls of shamrock Bertie Ahern gives George Bush. The US cannot make one law for the Irish and another for everyone else. Why should it?
