Health study is vital before project gets all-clear

A HEALTH impact assessment should be completed before any EPA licence is given to run a waste incinerator next to the densely populated town of Drogheda.

The project should be put on hold for a number of years so that such an assessment could be completed. The Institute of Public Health is the body that would normally undertake such work.

At the EPA oral hearing to grant an operating licence to Indaver it became clear that a health impact assessment was not part of Indaver’s plan for the incinerator intended for Co Meath.
