Changing couples

FOLLOWING the recent US elections it seems that anyone who asserts that a married couple is made up of a man and a woman will be labelled a ‘right wing fundamentalist’ by certain elements.

Will all Irish Examiner readers who fit this ‘right wing’ description please stand up?

Will legislation be passed in the Ireland of the future to categorise the current marriage laws as an ‘illiberal aberration?’

I should hope not. As I see it there is every chance that those unfortunates who marry someone of the opposite sex will have to stick to the status quo for another while yet.
