Ban the killer sprays
Driving through the countryside at this time of year, enjoying the exuberance of the early summer growth, I am visually assaulted by hedgerows of burned yellow or wilting herbage.
I find it hurtful to my soul; but goodness knows what it is doing to our native wild flowers.
One thing’s for sure... it has little effect on the tougher weeds like dock, bramble, thistle and nettle. These come bounding back minus the competition from wild flowers and grasses.
What do our tourists think? It’s lazy maintenance and the sooner its made illegal, the better. And farmers, I’m not a townie... I work on the land myself.
