RTÉ accused of poor ‘form’
On Friday, Nov 15, I heard that the station was running a competition. I called into the studio and the receptionist told me that they had run out of forms, but I could pick one up on the following Monday.
As a precaution I rang beforehand and was informed that there weren’t any forms, but if I left my name and address she would send one out to me. To date, I have sent out nine letters and am still waiting for the form. Two weeks ago I finally thought my problems were solved when a lady from the drama department rang to inform me that it would be sent out to me at the end of the week, which would have been December 6.
Along the way, I was told that they had run out of forms; that the forms had not yet been printed, and that the person who usually ran the competition wasn’t doing it anymore.
From this experience I have absolutely no doubt that RTÉ’s problems do not arise from lack of funding, but from incompetent people who are unable to perform the simple task of sending out a form.
