Puppy trafficking is a cruel business
Young puppies are being transported from puppy farms in this country, packed in car boots, in the most smothering and cramped conditions, as many as 100 at a time, and taken across to the UK where they are sold for approximately stg£30 per animal.
They are then sold on by their new owners for anything up to five times the original price.
This has been described as a very cruel, illegal practice which requires urgent EU legislation. There is legislation governing this loathsome business in the UK, but no appropriate legislation in this country. Stop this trafficking now.
