Loyalist hitlist is not confined to republicans

YET again Roger Cottrell expands upon the mote in the republican eye while minimising the beam in the adjacent loyalist one (Irish Examiner letters, January 12).

I would be the first to admit that republicans, on both sides of the Border, have a way to go in terms of political correctness. But their crimes are misdemeanours compared to the felonious way that loyalists treat minorities.

For years the Chinese community in Northern Ireland have been targeted for burnings and beatings by those loyalists. More recently this sort of bullying has been extended to east Europeans.
