Michael Moynihan: Remote working is good for some, but not always the customer

As remote work blurs office and home, public oversharing in cafes raises fresh questions about privacy and professionalism
Michael Moynihan: Remote working is good for some, but not always the customer

'One moment you’re in a favourite cafe, enjoying your coffee, and suddenly you’re listening to a discussion that really belongs to an office.'

Last week I wrote about pets in cafes and restaurants, and I remain adamant that this is an underrated Sign Of The Apocalypse, an advance guard for the Four Horsemen. A prophet is never recognised in his own land, etc, but some day you’ll know I was right.

I mentioned in passing other examples of the decline in social standards, including the commitment of some savages to inflicting their music or movie choices on everyone else sharing public spaces with them. Who could have guessed that so many people were allergic to earphones? Truly a hidden plague which medical science must focus on.
