Irish art on show in London - Heritage shared

The 70-plus works involved come from the bank’s collection which was established in 1980 with the objective of preserving and supporting this key aspect of Ireland’s heritage.
This will be the first major exhibition of Irish art in London in over 30 years and, apart from bringing pleasure to those who will visit it at the Mall Gallery, it will mark another positive step in our ever-changing relationship with our nearest neighbours.
Corporations have joined the great private collectors of art as custodians of our cultural legacy but that does not always mean that the works can be viewed by a curious and interested public.
Because of that the two lead organisations in this venture are to be congratulated on two fronts — for sharing the work internationally and using it to help build a positive image of Ireland in one of the world’s great cities.
