As a weekly traveller on the Cork-Heathrow route, I am alarmed at the implications, for Cork, should the Aer Lingus-Heathrow slots fall into the hands of IAG.

I have heard no mention of Cork Airport in any of the commentaries; the focus has been on Dublin and its value as a potential transatlantic hub and feeder to Heathrow.

Thousands of jobs at Cork’s multinational businesses will be affected, if Ireland proclaims that only Dublin matters to the Irish economy. Aer Lingus still announces its three flights a week service to Brussels. That service was pulled recently.
