Dail commitee needs to focus on transparency

The Committee on Procedures and Privileges also rejected calls for Irish Water to come under the remit of the Public Accounts Committee. Would it be too much to ask if the Committee on Procedures and Privileges would descend from its lofty perch and add a little transparency to these inexplicable decisions and explain to the people why the Public Accounts Committee have not been given the powers to represent the people in such vital ares as accounting for the use of large amounts of taxpayers’ hard-earned money?
The very necessary referendum on ownership of Irish Water could also accommodate the granting of more powers to the Public Accounts Committee. Perhaps then the world would see that this ‘best little country on the planet in which to do business’ is governed with a modicum of transparency and serves the common good.
