Fur farming - Inhumane anachronism

In a world with a population of more than 7bn — and rising — tens of millions of animals live short and often brutal lives in industrial environments.

Fur farming - Inhumane anachronism

Unless we all become vegetarians there is an unavoidability about this but this obliges us to ensure that decent, humane conditions prevail where animals are intensively reared for food production.

Tens of millions more animals are raised for other human purposes — research, pets, sport, and the whims of fashion. Fur farming is to the fore amongst these and the industry continues to rear animals in an industrial setting long after the need for furs no longer exists. No matter how beautiful and seductive the product, it does not justify the cruelty involved. The industry is an anachronism and it is time we brought it to an end.
