Friends and neighbours

The President’s State visit to the UK and the noble sentiments expressed confirm the wise old rural maxim that a neighbour next door is better than a friend faraway.

Tensions there may be, but one should keep close to one’s neighbour, for when trouble comes, there may be no one else to turn to.
