This is yet another blatant example of how people who have already been asked to pour billions into saving the country’s ailing banks could end up being screwed all over again.

Arguably, his proposed removal of interest relief on tracker mortgages might be less toxic, especially since most of the banking system is now nationalised. As things stand, according to the former adviser to Finance Minister Brian Lenihan, bank customers not on tracker mortgages subsidise people who have them.
