Wallace and issue of hypocrisy
Not because Mr Wallace should not be judged, because he should be, but because those who claim the right to do so are themselves not fit for such a role.
There is not one single elected person in the country, of any party or none, who publishes receipts to prove the expenses they claim are genuine, or still have the original mortgage outstanding, or to show their beneficial ownership of constituency offices or publish audited accounts of how they funded their election campaigns.
Each time such requests are made of these people the response is they don’t “have to”, or they are “entitled” to make such claims. The fact that the concept of doing something because it’s the right thing to do, without “having to” seems completely alien to any of them.
If any TD, senator, MEP, or councillor wants to line up and cast themselves in the role of Mr Wallace’s judge, let that same person publish receipts for their expenses, audited accounts of how they funded their election campaigns, and minutes of meetings they held with lobbyists and the donations they received in return.
