Storm Boelo is billowing and blowing it’s way across the country and unfortunately it is also wreaking havoc on the sporting fixtures this weekend.

Alongside the Orange alerts, several Status Yellow weather warnings are in place this afternoon.

A rain warning covering nine counties, including Cork, Clare, Kerry, Galway, Mayo and Donegal, remains valid until 3pm while separate wind warnings come into force this afternoon across Connacht, Clare, Kerry and Limerick, while Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan also face wind alerts.

As a result, a number of matches have been cancelled or postponed on Saturday including the Clare Premier Intermediate Hurling final between Clarecastle and Corofin after Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chíosóg failed a pitch inspection.

That final will now be played on Sunday at 2pm at the same venue while the Intermediate final between Inagh-Kilnamona and the Banner will now be played in Cratloe at 3pm.

In rugby one kick off time has been changed in the Energia All-Ireland League & Men's Junior Cup as the Division 2A clash between Galwegians v Ballymena will now kick off in Crowley Park, Galway at 12:30pm rather than 2:30pm.

All other AIL & Junior Cup games proceed as scheduled.
