No tax change

In your letters page (May 11) several MBA students from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, made a number of valid points about economic failures spurred on through the Celtic Tiger days and a suggestion for Ireland to get out of our economic mess by raising our corporation tax from 12.5% to 16%.

No tax change

Although this would still leave us with an edge over most of our competitors, I also believe that once you change something that is regarded as sacrosanct, then it is much easier to do so again and again. This would surely leave any potential FDI companies very edgy when considering whether or not to invest here. For that reason I would not change our tax.
