RTÉ’s ham-fisted debacle in wrongly accusing Fr Reynolds of serious crime begs the question how many more similar programmes by RTÉ castigating religious orders were properly researched and indeed in their presentation of said programmes were they just and fair in their treatment of alleged crimes?

The format of such programmes seemed to suggest guilt from the beginning while the interviewers were cast in the form of judge and jury with the unfortunate subjects under investigation being given little credence, often times being judged and condemned in their absence and even, in some cases, being deceased.

The Fr Reynolds saga indicates to any fair-minded person that there is an underlying policy of anti-Catholic bias in RTÉ.
