Older people not getting a fair deal

I’M aghast that the funding allocation for the Fair Deal has run out.

I believe the government and the HSE will tell us that it is because older people are living longer.

Well that happens when you treat older people better. To me this meant that the Fair Deal was and is working.

It is human nature to want to live longer, if you are treated better and with respect.

I would let Germany, the EU, the IMF or anybody else we owe, wait for their money.

We must, as a society, do all we can to delay our older people from going to the grim reaper before it’s their time.

It’s OK to die, that’s part of life, but to die from not having proper care or being neglected is not on.

I hope the new government and the new minister of health find a way to save something that actually works.

For the betterment of all those who worked all their lives and need help now, make it so.
