Queen’s trip premature and unwelcome
But I am not. By chance of birth I am Irish and rightly owe my loyalties to Ireland and my Irish ancestors.
Loyalty owes being true to all those who have suffered unjustly at the hands of British activity in Irish affairs. Britain has refused to cooperate with Irish authorities to hand over information on its overt and covert activities in Ireland, particularly in the last 40 years.
Until the British agree to co-operate fully and disclose full information on the activities of its agencies, any visit of the queen of England would be premature, unwelcome and a betrayal of the many of our Irish brethren, some still living, who have suffered at the hands of the British.
Should the queen persuade her ministers to co-operate with Ireland to the fullest extent possible, things would be otherwise and a fulsome and wholehearted cead mile fáilte could then ring out across the land.
