Self-employed suffer

THERE is increasing evidence that the self-employed citizens of Ireland are being discriminated against.

The self-employed are not entitled to unemployment benefits when they become unemployed. Also, the recent Finance Bill targeted the self-employed for special attention, with an extra 3% Universal Social Charge on those earning over €100,000 per annum.

Surely, the self-employed will be the citizens most likely to generate employment in the future, if they have not emigrated first.
