Dual monarchy idea overtaken by events
Mr Galvin then goes on to reveal his own truth by stating a dual monarchy was somehow lingering in the background to be implemented if needed, despite the Irish people declaring a republic trough its franchise in December 1918.
Could Mr Galvin show us any evidence for such a claim, and could he further explain how dual monarchy would be implemented.
Would the Irish people first be asked first to revoke the republic which they had already voted into being?
I would also question Mr Galvin’s claim that the Anglo Irish Treaty proved its validity, as it seems to me that it, just like the dual monarchy alternative, was a certain recipe for civil war, just as its hangover is still fuelling misguided armed dissendents today.
