It’s time to define the ‘vulnerable in society’

SINCE the economic downturn began in this wonderful country of ours a few years ago we have had Taoiseach Brian Cowen, ministers and every Fianna Fáil and Green party TD telling us how all the decisions that are being made are based on protecting the vulnerable in society.

Each day we hear and read about cutbacks that hit the sick, the disabled, the unemployed and those at risk from poverty.

Perhaps it is time for the Government to define exactly just who it is that they claim to be protecting.
