Repay the expenses — or face the sack

JOHN O’Donoghue’s response to his expense claims is completely inadequate. Nothing less than a full refund to the taxpayers, in addition to his apology for this disgraceful waste of their money, is acceptable.

Claiming that his position as Ceann Comhairle puts him above public controversy is simply an attempt by him to try to avoid the consequences of these totally unjustifiable claims.

The Taoiseach should ensure Mr O’Donoghue repays these monies immediately to the exchequer.
