Euro election loser takes the ball home

I WAS amused to read (July 4) about East Cork Fianna Fáil deputy Ned O’Keeffe’s remarks concerning the people of Rathcormac in Co Cork who have been looking for a permanent school structure since 1967.

Euro election loser takes the ball home

He sounded like a big child who, when told he could not play, decided to take his ball and go home.

This is the same Ned O’Keeffe who only a few weeks ago wanted Tesco to leave Ireland because they were not paying their suppliers a fair price. What was he going to replace all the Tesco jobs with ?

This is the same Ned O’Keeffe who will inherit Brian Crowley’s seat in the European Parliament if the latter is chosen to contest and wins the presidency. If the people of Munster wanted Ned O’Keeffe in the European Parliament, they would have elected him.

I thought Charlie McCreevy was bad when he told us to vote Yes to the Lisbon Treaty and to leave it to our betters.

May God help us all should Deputy O’Keeffe ever end up in the European Parliament.
