Judges must be free of government meddling

SO the judiciary are not jumping through hoops to agree a wage cut. The bad press from this is deserved, but they will fall in line over time.

For you to advocate legislation (June 23) from our politicians to deal with this is nuts. We have a judiciary who operate free of government meddling and they must be left alone.

Politicians screw up everything they touch and for you to suggest that this be changed is foolhardy.

It may only be the salary issue, but where would that lead. Has anybody asked the senior people in the unions what wage drop they have accepted over the past six months?

Are journalists afraid to question the unions for fear of upsetting their shop stewards, which could lead to further repercussions.

The unions have been very vocal about other people’s earnings – now it’s their turn.
