Work less, play more

ON May 1, 1886, more than 100,000 people marched in Chicago in support of the eight-hour work day.

Workers in those days put in 10- and 12-hour days – often six days a week for those who could get a job

It is now time to consider lowering the work week from five to three days. The challenge then will be to train and educate people how to spend the leisure time that will result.
