YOUR front page report headlined ‘War on drugs is not working, says EU commission’ (August 4) was insulting to the intelligence of any reader who knows anything about illegal drugs throughout the world.

HAVING read the Irish constitution recently I am convinced there is a need for a national assembly to be drawn up and given the brief to rewrite major parts of it.

IN his letter (May 18), Nick Folley states “wherever he (Declan Ganley) got the money (to finance the no vote on the Lisbon Treaty) I am happy there was someone – anyone – able to challenge the steamroller being used to bully us into signing this lengthy and complex document”.

ON May 1, 1886, more than 100,000 people marched in Chicago in support of the eight-hour work day.
