Possible cases in 7 EU states

SEVEN EU countries, including Ireland, reported suspected cases of swine flu yesterday as the EU and the World Health Organisation (WHO) raised the alert level for the virus.

The three patients in the EU confirmed to have the virus — one in Spain and two in Britain — are recovering well.

The suspected cases are in Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Greece, Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy.
