New inquiry makes most sense
It is more than a quarter of a century since it occurred, when the lives of 48 young people were brought to a horrible end. Their families, as well as the survivors, will bear the emotional and traumatic scars to the end of their days.
Adding to that burden is their conviction that the findings of the original inquiry into the cause of the fire were wrong because new expertise has emerged, though not new evidence, which would vacate the verdict that it was started deliberately.
