Unionists should be wary of proposed deal
This consisted of a scathing attack on unionists for not being delighted with what would seem to be considerable financial and other benefits on offer after agreement between the British and Irish governments.
I feel unionists are right to be cautious and, like most British citizens, I would view any policy initiative by our Labour government with profound scepticism. In that context, the overall tone of your remarks was too harsh.
Perhaps if an all-embracing economic blueprint falls into place, the Irish Republic could consider rejoining the UK whereupon the border would disappear.
