Jersey cows

I WISH to complain about the photo of cows painted in Kerry colours on your front page (Irish Examiner, September 16).

I feel it was extremely distasteful to publish a picture of animals treated in this way.

I’m sure the farmer meant no harm, but the paint could have led to skin irritation or other reactions causing the animals great distress.

I feel it was very irresponsible of you to publish such a picture. Let people paint their own skins, but leave the animals alone.
