The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has recalled thousands of stuffed animal toys stocked in claw vending machines in Munster, saying they pose a "serious risk" to children.
In a recall notice, the CCPC said that there were approximately 15,000 of the toys in Ireland.
It said the toys had been stocked at two children's activity centres in Cork and one in Kerry between June 2022 and May 2023.
The affected play centres are:Â
- Monkey Maze in Glanmire;Â
- Little Rascals in Mallow;
- and Premier Play Ireland Limited (The Playdium) in Tralee.
The CCPC issued the recall over the colourful toys for not complying with the Toy Safety Regulations.
The CCPC also said that the products do not have a CE mark and "likely present a serious risk to children".

The exact brand and type/number of affected toy models are not known, nor are their bar code and batch numbers.
Customers who identify the products have been advised to stop using them immediately and keep them out of the reach of children.
