Cork's Rochestown Park Hotel 'horrified' following Bingo Loco brawl
Videos circulating online appeared to show a large brawl breaking out during the event at the Rochestown Park Hotel in Douglas
Management of the Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork has said it is āhorrifiedā by the violent scenes at a Bingo Loco event last weekend in which two were arrested.
A man in his 50s and a woman in her 20s were arrested while two men were taken to hospital for treatment following the large altercation at the hotel in Douglas on Saturday night.
The hotel management said the event, which has been hosted numerous times, was āmarredā by a couple of groups attending.
āThe management of the Rochestown Park Hotel are horrified by the incident that happened in the hotel on Saturday night.
āA popular social event that the hotel has hosted numerous times over the last five years was marred by a couple of groups of people who attended on the night,ā management said in a statement.
The Rochestown Park Hotel will be fully cooperating with the Garda investigation which is now ongoing āand hopes that this investigation will hold those responsible for their actions on the night fully accountable,ā they said.
Bingo Loco is described by organisers as āa unique blend of boozy bingo, pulsating bingo raves, and good old-fashioned fun".Ā
Videos circulating online appeared to show a large brawl breaking out during the event.
One video appears to show several men and women fighting and crashing through tables and chairs while a separate video taken outside the back entrance of the hotel shows several separate fights occurring simultaneously.
Some of those involved were dressed up for Halloween.
A separate video appears to show up to nine gardaĆ attempting to diffuse another altercation inside the hotel.
A Garda spokesperson said two men were taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment for minor injuries following the fight.
āGardaĆ received a report of a public order disturbance at a licenced premises in Douglas, Cork on Saturday night, 28th October 2023.
āA male in his 50s and a female in her 20s were arrested at the scene for public order offences and conveyed to a Garda station in Cork City.
āThey have both since been released without charge and files are being prepared for submission to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
āInvestigations are ongoing,ā they said.
