Limerick murder victim is laid to rest in her native country Brazil

Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, who was brutally murdered in Limerick, has been laid to rest in her native Brazil.

Gardaí launched a murder investigation into the death Ms Pereira Rosa, 33, after her body was found at an apartment in the Carlton House complex on Cecil St at approximately 7.30am on August 21.

Her employer covered the cost of transporting her body back home, and a fundraiser had been set up to help the family with funeral costs.

Her body was repatriated on Wednesday and her wake was held at the Ossel funeral home on Thursday morning.

Her funeral procession took place on Thursday afternoon, and she was then laid to rest at the Cemitério Memorial Park in Sorocaba, São Paulo.

Her sister, Poliana, described her as “perfect, wonderful, beautiful, loved, blessed” as well as a “kind, generous and hardworking”.

“Although I still don’t believe and accept it, now you are at home, close to your family who loves you unconditionally,” she paid tribute on social media.

Ms Pereira Rosa, a law graduate, had been living in Limerick for a number of years and worked for a cleaning company in Co Limerick. Her employer said she will be “sadly missed by everybody”.

“I  don't know what to say, she was a great daughter. She’s a very good person, and she'll be sadly missed. Jady was a great girl, she didn’t deserve what happened to her,” Shane Ryan had told the Irish Examiner.

Investigating gardaí were keen to speak to Brazilian national Judismar Wesley Batista, who was Ms Pereira Rose’s husband. Sources confirmed that a body found in Cork on August 21 at approximately 7pm was Mr Batista.

Friends of Ms Pereira Rosa told the Irish Examiner she had been married to him for over a decade. She broke off their relationship a couple of months ago, but Mr Batista “was not accepting much” and hoped for “reconciliation”.
