A man in his 40s is to appear in court on Friday morning after being arrested as part of a joint investigation into the murder of Robbie Lawlor by An Garda Síochána and the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
Dubliner Robbie Lawlor, 36, was gunned down outside a house in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast in April 2020.
On Thursday a Garda spokesman said investigators from the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested a man in his 40s in Dublin.
He is wanted in Northern Ireland.
The arrest was on foot of a trade and co-operation agreement extradition warrant to extradite him there to be charged in connection with the investigation.
He is being detained at a Garda station in Dublin and will appear before the High Court at 10.30am on Friday.
Lawlor had previously been linked with the murder of teenager Keane Mulready-Woods in Louth in January 2020. He was known for his involvement in serious and organised crime.
