€1.6m worth of cannabis seized during garda operation in Dublin

The cannabis herb seized in Blanchardstown.

Gardaí have seized cannabis worth €1.6m in an operation in Dublin.

At 6.30pm last night, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau intercepted a vehicle in Blanchardstown. 

A separate search operation was conducted under warrant of a business premises in the Blanchardstown area.

During the course of the searches, 80 kilogrammes of cannabis herb was seized.

A 42-year-old man was arrested in relation to drug trafficking and is currently being held under Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act at a Garda Station in Dublin.
