Tuam family group hits out at 'deeply upsetting' online posts over excavations at mother and baby home

The Tuam Babies Family Group says it has been inundated with "hurtful" comments online, with people questioning why forensics teams are exhuming babies who were buried in coffins.

The group said of the discovery of 33 babies encoffined at the notorious former mother and baby home that “these are not the remains found in a septic tank — these are children buried under a pathway".
