Gardaí investigating fatal altercation at juvenile supported living facility in Dublin

Gardaí are responding to a "serious ongoing incident" at a house in Dublin.
Gardaí are working to establish what led to a violent incident at a “supported accommodation” for juveniles, which is believed to have left one boy dead.
A number of other juveniles – all believed to be aged 16 or 17 – sustained injuries, though they are understood to be minor.
Gardaí are not searching for any suspects, but it is not yet clear whether an arrest has been made.
Further details are expected within the next few hours, which may confirm that a fatality has occurred.
The residential property is located in the Donaghmede area of north Dublin.
It is described as “supported living” accommodation for juveniles, provided either by the State or on its behalf, it is understood.
A group of male and female juveniles were present when the incident occurred.
Staff members were also believed to be on the premises at the time.
Sources said “some sort of row” broke out, which escalated into violence.
However, the exact circumstances remain unclear, as the incident occurred around noon.
All those present at the time are now providing statements to investigators.
A Garda spokesperson said: "An Garda Síochána is currently responding to a serious ongoing incident at a residential location in Dublin 13 today, Wednesday 15th October 2025.
"As this is in its early stages, no further information is available at this time."
