Michael Deely, the father of missing person Trevor Deely, has died, his family have announced.Â
According to a death notice on RIP.ie, Michael Deely, of Naas in Co Kildare and formerly of Loughrea in Co Galway, passed away peacefully at the TLC Centre in Maynooth surrounded by family on August 1.
He is survived by his wife, Ann, and their children Mark, Pamela, Michele, and Trevor, who the notice describes as still missing.
On December 7, 2000, 22-year-old Trevor Deely was in Dublin City socialising with colleagues at a Christmas function and never returned home.

He was last seen on CCTV passing by the Bank of Ireland ATM on Haddington road at approximately 4.14am on the morning of December 8, 2000.
Despite a lengthy garda investigation into trying to establish his whereabouts, no trace of Trevor has ever been found.
In the years since, Michael Deely and the rest of the Deely family have campaigned tirelessly for information that might assist in locating Trevor.
In 2018, on the 18th anniversary of his son's disappearance, Michael said time has stood still for his family since Trevor vanished.
He said Trevor was never out of his mind and it was his "dearest dream to see him come home to me again, to walk through the door of our home."
Michael Deely’s funeral Mass will take place on Saturday at the Church of Our Lady and St David in Naas.
